This meditation will help guide you into deep relaxation and sleep by using the power of your breath and by looking at the present moment with increased awareness, love and gratitude.  Whether you experience insomnia, an over-active mind or tension of any kind, we invite you to listen to this meditation right as you are falling asleep at night.

If you’ve ever found yourself in bed within the early hours of the morning unable to fall asleep, it is understandably an incredibly frustrating experience.  We encourage you to always feel your emotions and let them flow through you as you see best.  This meditation is not intended to encourage a suppression of emotion, but rather to cultivate a different relationship with the present moment (during those times that falling asleep feels difficult).

In those moments of frustration, the resistance to the present moment activates our sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight state), increasing anxiety and tension with our body.  During these times, we encourage you to take a moment to observe and ask yourself if you’re feelings of frustration and anger are growing from your resistance to the present moment.  For example, are these emotions surfacing because you think that the present moment should be different?  Should feel different?  Should look different?  It may feel counter-intuitive, but during these times, we encourage you to name all of the positive things that the present moment is providing you.  Let yourself know that you are grateful for this moment exactly as it is.  Accompany this practice with any kind of deep breathing exercises that you are comfortable with and begin to observe your body and how tension slowly begins to dissipate.

** There will be no bell sound at the end of any of our sleep-related meditations **
